Scott
Cupper (Billy) **
Scott has appeared in some theater around town. He is a
company member with Strange Tree Group. His most recent roles
were in their productions Mr. Spacky, the Man Who was
Continuously Followed by Wolves and Ghost Stories: Crucible the
Musible. Next up, he’ll be directing Wit for Red Ink
Productions.
Larry Carpenter (Bud)**
Larry has over 35 years experience as an actor, director,
producer and writer. Awards: Atlas Award for best actor in San
Diego’s Old Globe Theatre production of Godspell. Major credits:
Sweeny Todd, Angry Housewives, Big River and Personals. Chicago
credits include Apex Theatre’s Mandragola. Memberships include:
Dramatists Guild of America, Chicago Dramatists and Theatre
Building Chicago’s Musical Theatre Workshop. His new musical
Song-Poems Wanted! The Musical has its first showcase
performance mid-February.
Jules
Lambert (Stephanie)
Jules is thrilled to be a part of Pitching Peguins and having
the opportunity to work with such a "super" cast and crew.
Recent credits include Julius Ceaser (Portia), Sin (Avery),
Medea (Chorus), and 11 in 1 out (Girl), plus a few improv
troupes here and there. You may be able to spot Jules in
industrial films and commercials such as Ulta and On the Border.

Thom
Goodwin (Bob) **
Thom has been acting in Chicago since 1998. He was last seen
on stage in Frump Tucker Theatre Company’s Trust as Roy. He was
last heard in the independent film trailer for Secrets of the
Clown. Most recently, he played Tyler in the pilot episodes of
Bus Stop. Thom dedicates this performance to his beautiful
fiancé, Andrea. Roll Tide!
Julie Cowden (Sue)
Julie is excited to be a part of Pitching Penguins. Previous
Chicago credits include A Dream Play (The Mill), The Magician
(National Pastime Theatre) and Jane: Abortion and the
Underground (20 Percent Theatre Company). Thanks to Neal.
**Neal Starbird (Male Understudy)
Neal is thrilled to be involved with this project.
Favorite roles include Adam in Shape of Things and Jeff in
Lobby Hero (Artists Repertory Theatre), Horace Gilmer in To
Kill a Mockingbird (Bog Theatre), Harry Bagley in Cloud 9 (defunkt
theatre), Mortimer in Edward II (Triangle Productions),
Edward in The 7 Deadly Sins (Liminal Group), and Mike in A
Lie of the Mind and Leon Vole in Like I Say (Theatre

Karin Shook (Director)
As the Artistic Director of Tripaway Theatre, Karin has
directed, adapted, and performed in works by Shakespeare,
Moliere, and Aristophanes. She has also worked with Steppenwolf,
Redmoon, Strawdog, and Collaboraction. She is a member of
Actors’ Equity, AFTRA, and the Dramatists Guild, is an alum of
the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, and is co-founder of
DirectorsLabChicago.
Eva L. Hare (Stage Manager)
Eva is pleased to be working on the premiere production
of Pitching Penguins. Eva has worked as a stage manager and
technician on numerous productions professionally and at her
alma mater Northwestern University. Recent credits include: A
Wonderful Life (Porchlight Music Theatre), Berlin to Broadway
with Kurt Weill (Light Opera Works) and the Chicago and New York
productions of Boublil and Schonberg’s The Pirate Queen.
Jeff Harris, Matthew Tucker (Scenic Designers)
Amy Frangquist "Frankie" (Costume Director)
Amy is pleased to be working on her first production with
Flaxen Theatre. She has previously designed "Assassins" for
Open Eye, and numerous plays for Defiant Theatre, including
its last production, "A Clockwork Orange." She graduated
from Northwestern University and is a staff member at
Goodman Theatre.
Julian Pike (Lighting Director )
Julian's Chicago design credits include companies such
as; Bohemian Theatre Ensemble, Seven over Seven, The Strange
Tree Group (company member), Griffin Theatre Company,
Inaside Chicago Dance, Theatre Building Chicago, Porchlight
Music Theatre, Chamber Opera Chicago, Mordine & Company
Dance Theatre, and Reverie Theatre Company. Other design
credits include four seasons at Opera in the Ozarks where he
designed the lighting for 11 operas and 1 musical.
